Obesity and fertility issues

Obesity can lead to fertility problems in both men and women, often due to hormonal imbalances. In women, excess body fat can disrupt menstrual cycles and prevent ovulation, leading to difficulties with conception. Obesity is also linked to conditions like polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), which can further impair fertility. In men, obesity affects testosterone levels, sperm count, and motility, reducing fertility potential. However, research suggests that weight loss through a balanced diet and regular exercise can significantly improve fertility outcomes. Achieving a healthy weight helps restore hormonal balance, regulate menstrual cycles, and enhance overall reproductive health, increasing the chances of successful conception.
