Abstract:
Obesity treatment often emphasizes nutrition science without addressing the behavioral accountability systems required for long-term success. This presentation shares a practical framework developed during the author’s personal 135-pound weight-loss journey beginning at age 61. The Think and Grow Thin system integrates evidence-based nutrition principles, daily self-monitoring, habit stacking, structured goal setting, and peer accountability to create permanent lifestyle change. Participants will learn how radical honesty in tracking food intake, structured daily movement, and mindset-based interventions can dramatically improve adherence and outcomes. Real-world case studies from coaching clients and corporate wellness programs illustrate how small, measurable behavior changes compound into significant weight loss and metabolic improvement. The session provides actionable tools clinicians, coaches, and individuals can implement immediately to improve compliance, patient engagement, and long-term weight-management success.
