Abstract:

Obesity is a complex, multifactorial condition characterized by significant interindividual variability in metabolic response to dietary and lifestyle interventions. Conventional, generalized weight-loss approaches often fail to produce sustainable outcomes, highlighting the need for precision-based nutritional strategies. This presentation examines the role of precision nutrition in obesity management, emphasizing the integration of metabolic research with clinical and lifestyle practice. The presentation explores current evidence on how individualized dietary interventions tailored according to metabolic status, body composition, dietary patterns, and lifestyle behaviors can improve weight regulation and metabolic health. Key nutritional determinants, including macronutrient distribution, protein adequacy, dietary fiber intake, glycemic load, and micronutrient sufficiency, are discussed in relation to energy balance, insulin sensitivity, and adiposity regulation. Emerging research on gut microbiota, meal timing, and metabolic flexibility is also addressed to illustrate their relevance in personalized obesity interventions.

In addition to nutritional factors, the presentation highlights behavioral and lifestyle components that influence long-term adherence, such as eating behaviors, sleep patterns, stress regulation, and physical activity. Practical frameworks are presented to demonstrate how precision nutrition principles can be translated into real-world clinical and community settings without reliance on extreme dietary restriction. Case-based observations and research-informed insights illustrate how personalized nutrition approaches can support sustainable weight management, reduce metabolic risk factors, and improve overall health outcomes. The presentation concludes by emphasizing the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration and research-driven practice in advancing effective obesity management strategies. This session aims to provide researchers, clinicians, and nutrition professionals with a comprehensive understanding of precision nutrition concepts and their application in addressing the global burden of obesity.
