Abstract:
There has been a misconception about energy in nutrition, exercise, and biological sciences, and that misconception is that we operate on the same thermodynamics as a combustion engine. This is the premise of the calorie measurement, and in this presentation I will discuss the the history of this measurement, how scientists got it wrong in application, and the real energy dynamics behind nutrition as we understand it with modern physics. With this better understanding of the source of energy in nature, I will then discuss how our bodies mediate the use of materials needed to produce continuous the energy necessary for life function. This will reveal a more clear view of the physiology of weight loss and its relationship to the biophysics of energy in exercise and nutrition. This will allow scientists, doctors, and health professionals to better understand and recommend weight loss management strategies for their clients.
